John talks to Homer about his interest in rocketry.

“Guess there’s worse hobbies you could have,” says John. “But skippin’ work?  That’s out of line, and you got to know that. So, let’s go and get you right with Jake. Tell him you’ll work the hoot owl shift tonight.”

John starts to head upstairs.

“No,” says Homer. “The coal mine’s your life. It’s not mine. I’m never goin’ down there again. I wanna go into space.

John pauses, then continues up the stairs.
