GUEST: Graphic Novelist Brian Fies
Miss Riley tells Homer she wants him to know something.
“I’m proud of you,” says Miss Riley. “I am. Whatever you choose.”
Later, Homer stares at his bedroom ceiling. He gets up and opens the rocket equations book Miss Riley gave him.
He turns to the section on “ALTITUDE AND RANGE OF ROCKET FLIGHTS,” and begins writing problems on sheets of paper. This continues through the morning, when his alarm clock goes off.
Later, in the mine, Homer continues his calculations during his lunch break.
