GUEST: Film Producer and West Virginia Cuisine Expert Robert Tinnell
O’Dell and the other Rocket Boys are meeting Homer at the mine during lunchtime. O’Dell tells Homer that everyone says to say ‘hi.’
“Michael and Billy,” says O’Dell.
“Valentine Carmina,” adds Roy Lee.
“How about Miss Riley?” asks Homer.
“She ain’t been around much,” says Roy Lee. “She got some new boyfriend in Welch.”
“So, what’s it like down there?” asks Quentin.
“You get used to it after a while,” says Homer. “Besides, shoveling coal’s got its advantages. Check this out.” Homer flexes his bicep.
“Man, no wonder my step dad can slug me so good,” says Roy Lee.
“Well, after a month down there, you’d be able to knock him out,” says Homer.
“I ain’t in no hurry,” replies Roy Lee. The mine whistle blows. Homer stacks up his lunch pail.
“See you all later,” says Homer.
“See ya, Homer,” says Roy Lee.
Later, at dinner in the Hickam house, the Hickam family says grace.
“In Christ’s name, we pray,” says John, as they begin eating dinner.
