GUEST: “Rocket Boy” Roy Lee Cooke
John Hickam sits in the car, and takes a deep breath. He turns around to talk to Roy Lee.
“Your father was one of the best men I ever had workin’ for me,” says John. “I was lucky to know him.”
Homer looks at his father, as John starts the car. Roy Lee’s stepfather wipes his nose and watches the car drive away.
Later, the boys return to Cape Coalwood, with a bottle of alcohol and a rag.
O’Dell lights a match, and sets fire to the rag. Homer tosses the bottle at their blockhouse. The blockhouse bursts into flame.
