GUEST: Chad “O’Dell” Lindberg

“Thanks,” says the Corvette driver, who rides away.

“You fellas see the way she was lookin’ at me?” asks Roy Lee.

Homer waves toward the man driving the Corvette, and then looks back at the boys. “Man,” says Homer, “You all wanna be coal miners, you all go ahead and be coal miners.”

Homer heads off down the road to Snakeroot. The other boys head in the opposite direction.

Later, Homer is walking down the road with boxes of rocket parts as a truck passes. The other boys are in the back of the truck.

“There! There!” shouts Quentin, as the truck slows. The boys leap off the truck to join Homer on the road.

“God’s honest truth, Homer,” says O’Dell, “what are the chances of a bunch of kids from Coalwood actually winnin’ the National Science Fair?”

“A million to one, O’Dell,” replies Homer.
